Today’s guest is social entrepreneur David Lubell. He’s the founder of Welcoming America-a nonprofit, non-partisan organization, dedicated to providing support for many diverse communities and partners in over 200 American cities to make their communities more vibrant places. Launched in 2009, Welcoming America has spurred a growing movement across the United States, with one in eight Americans living in a Welcoming Community. Their award-winning, social entrepreneurship model is beginning to scale globally.
David Lubell is a graduate of Wesleyan University and received a master’s degree in public administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. As well, he is the recipient of several social entrepreneurship fellowships, including those from Ashoka, Draper Richards Kaplan and Harvard. He is also a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, and was named to the 2016 Chronicle of Philanthropy’s 40 under 40 list. In 2017, David was awarded The Charles Bronfman Prize, which recognizes young humanitarians whose work is inspired by their Jewish values and is of universal benefit to all people.
