Karabi Acharya is a director at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the nation’s largest philanthropy organization dedicated solely to health. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s goal is to build a national Culture of Health, placing well-being at the center of every aspect of life, and Karabi directs the foundation’s strategies for global learning.
Karabi earned a BA in anthropology from the University of Chicago, a Masters of Health Science in International Health from Johns Hopkins University and a Doctor of Science from Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. She is also a Donella Meadows Leadership Fellow. Before joining the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2015, Karabi served as the global director for Ashoka, a network of social entrepreneurs worldwide. Prior to Ashoka, she worked for the Academy for Educational Development and was on faculty at Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health.
